The Nyack Library is seeking an Interim Library Director. The incumbent reports to the Library Board of Trustees, and is responsible for the management of the staff, Library facilities, and almanac Library budget. Through Library Staff, the Acting Director oversees the library collection to ensure that it reflects the needs of the community. The Acting Director oversees the purchase of all library equipment and its engineering science to ensure that the Library is at the forefront of technology in libraries. As the face of the Library, the Acting Director works to reach out to other organizations in the community to partner with them. The anticipated duration of the position is six months to one year. Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Manage all personnel, including Department Heads, all full-time and role-time staff in a union environment, including hiring, motivating, counseling, performance issues, employee relations, and separations
- Maintain and manage the facilities of all buildings endemic by the Library, including the 33,500 square foot Library building, grounds, and any rental properties.
- Together with the Business concern Managing director and Treasurer, develop the almanac budget, currently at $3.2 1000000, for review by the Board and voter approval.
- Manage the annual upkeep to ensure that a fiscally prudent method of expenditures exists
- Participate in all staff committees (Collections, Programming, Admin, Dept. Heads and Training) and work to ensure that staff grooming and professional person evolution are bachelor to all staff members
- Collaborate and partner with community organizations including the Nyack Center, the Nyack School District, Rotary, and others
- Serve as the Library's representative to the various government agencies that serve the Nyack Library District.

- Ensure the delivery of programs that meet the needs of the vibrant, diverse, and engaging Nyack community

Minimum Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Functions
